Environment

Web browser on a Windows PC, Mac, or Chromebook.

Procedure

From Catmail (App Launcher)

This option will take you to the SharePoint start page, where you can see all of your SharePoint sites, sites you’ve visited recently, and news from your sites.

  1. Navigate to catmail.ohio.edu.

  2. Log in with your OHIO email and password.

  3. In the upper left corner, select the app launcher (waffle icon) and then SharePoint.

    • Tip: If you don’t see SharePoint, select Explore All your Apps and then search for “SharePoint” in the top search bar. Select the SharePoint icon.

  4. App launcher and "Explore All Your Apps" from Outlook
  5. This will take you to your SharePoint start page.

  6. From the SharePoint start page, select the site you’d like to go to.

From Onedrive.ohio.edu

OneDrive is a place for personal cloud file storage, but OneDrive’s menu provides quick access links to your SharePoint sites, too. This allows you to quickly navigate to both your personal and team files.

  1. Navigate to onedrive.ohio.edu

  2. In the left menu, scroll down to view the Quick Access section.

  3. Select your SharePoint site.

    • Tip:

      • If you don’t see your SharePoint site, select More places… and select your desired site.

      • After you’ve selected your site, you can select Pin to Quick Access in the top menu bar, so your site automatically appears in OneDrive’s Quick Access menu.

  4. After selecting your site, select Go to site in the upper right.

From Microsoft Teams

If your SharePoint site is affiliated with a Microsoft team, you can also navigate to it from Microsoft Teams.

  1. Open the Microsoft Teams app.

  2. From the left menu, select Teams.

  3. In the left menu pane, under Your teams, select your team.

  4. Select the General channel underneath the team name.

  5. Select files from the top menu.

  6. From the top menu bar, select Open in SharePoint. This will take you to your SharePoint site.

    • Tip: If you don’t see this option, select the ellipses (…).

  7. Microsoft Teams channel showing Open in SharePoint option
  8. You’ll see all of the files in your General channel in your SharePoint site's document library.

Outcome: You’ve navigated to your SharePoint site! From the top/side menu bar (depending on how your site is configured), you can access your document library (documents), a list of your site’s pages (pages), and other site contents.

Tip: You can follow your SharePoint site, so it appears under the Following section on your SharePoint start page. On your site, select the star icon – Not following in the upper right to follow the site.
