Description
Users may need to find a particular Asset within TeamDynamix. This article will provide step-by-step instructions on how to properly use the Search function in the Assets Module to find the information that you need.
Note that if you need to continually maintain visibility on some elements of an Asset it may be appropriate to set up a Report that captures that Asset and add that Asset to a widget on your Dashboard.
Environment
TeamDynamix web client.
Solution
You can search for assets just like tickets:
-
Open the Assets/CIs application. If you this is not already a tab on your interface in TDX, it can be accessed view View Applications in the upper-right hand corner.
-
This will add the tab to your navigation ribbon within the TDX Windo
-
Click Assets (left navigation).
-
Use filters such as:
-
Serial number
-
Location
-
Product model
-
Status
-
Note that you can find an Asset based on any Custom Attribute from the expandable field at the bottom of the filter pane. This list is long; you can use CTRL+F to find any field that you know the name of.
-
Run or save searches as needed for reporting.
