Go OHIO Data Retention and Local App Data

Summary

Covers how the Go OHIO app handles personal/private user data

Body

Go OHIO Data Retention and Local App Data

The Go OHIO mobile application does not independently maintain official copies of users’ account, academic, or financial records. This information is provided by authorized Ohio University systems through secure integrations and displayed within the app.

Locally stored app data

Go OHIO may temporarily store authentication information and cached content on a user’s device to support normal app functionality. Users can remove this locally stored information by selecting Reset this app within Go OHIO. This action signs the user out and clears authentication information and cached app content from the device.

For instructions, see How to reset the Go OHIO app.

University records and retention

Resetting the app does not delete records maintained by Ohio University’s connected systems. Go OHIO does not control or independently store those records and therefore cannot delete them. University records are retained and disposed of according to applicable legal requirements and University policies.
