Subscribing to Go OHIO opt-in channels

This article describes how to subscribe to Go OHIO opt-in channels that are relevant to the user's interests.

Description

Go OHIO allows users to subscribe to opt-in channels that are relevant to their interests. Opt-in channel managers may send messages within the app or mobile device push notifications only to users who have opted in to receive the notifications.

Environment

Go OHIO Android OS App, Apple iOS App, and go.ohio.edu

Solution 

1. From the home screen of Go OHIO, select the Messages icon in the bottom navigation menu. The messages screen shows all notifications received from Go OHIO.

2. Select Opt-in channels to view all available opt-in channels.

3. Select the "+" symbol next to each channel listed under "Available opt-in channels" you would like to subscribe to. This will add the channel to your "My opt-in channels" list.

4. To unsubscribe from any opt-in channel, select the "-" symbol next to the channel you want to unfollow.

5. To ensure you receive push notifications from your opt-in channels, make sure you have allowed Go OHIO to send push notifications in your device's settings menu. If you turn off Go OHIO push notifications, all messages will still appear on the Go OHIO Messages screen. Note that Go OHIO may send messages to all users, even if they are not subscribed to any opt-in channels.

Outcome: You should now be able to receive updates from Go OHIO about topics you choose.
