Overview
We use Blackthorn Events and the related 'Primary Event Group' to display on a calendar the upcoming labs that the Standardized Patient is signed up for. The calendar links are unique for each SP. Before the start of each semester, OMET will receive the schedule of labs from the CTAC Coordinator and load in 'Shell' events that can be cloned for each scheduled SP. This article explains how to clone the events and make them display specifically for Standardized Patients.
Navigate to Blackthorn Events in Salesforce
To find the 'Shell' events you'll need to navigate to Blackthorn Events in Salesforce.
1.) Click the 'Waffle' in the upper left corner and search for 'Events' and select 'Events (Planner).

2.) Navigate to the 'Events' tab and the 'Recently Viewed' list will likely appear. Change the list to 'CTAC Events'.

3.) Find and select the 'Shell' event you want to work on scheduling SPs for. Along the top right of the page, select 'Clone'.

4.) On the screen that loads, you don't have to make any changes, just select 'Clone'.

Edit the Cloned Event for your SP
On the page that loads, you'll want to update the following items:
- Event Name - remove 'shell' from the title.
- Primary Event Group - find the event group named for your standardized patient.

- Save and then add the 'Attendee' by following the steps below.
- Find the 'Attendees' link towards the top of the event. Hover over it and select 'New'.

- On the screen that loads, scroll down just a hair and find the 'Contact' field. Search for your Standardized Patient's contact record and select.

- Scroll back up to the top and fill out the 'Registration Status' field to 'Registered'.
- Save. Adding the attendee is what makes the event relate back to the Contact record for easy review of participation.
- Publish. Once all details/fields/attendees are updated publish the event. This is what makes it visible on the calendar.

Repeat as Needed
Repeat the Cloning process for all SP's scheduled for a specific event.
View the Standardized Patient's Calender
There are 2 ways the calendar for an SP can be viewed, the easiest is from the Contact Record. Navigate to link pictured below to view.

The other option is from the Event itself, by selecting the 'Primary Event Group' link > Event Group URL
