Managing storage and deleting and restoring items in your email

Learn how to manage your email storage and how to delete or restore items in Catmail or Microsoft Outlook.

Checking email storage 

1. To see how much of your 100 GB quota you are using: 

  1. Log into https://catmail.ohio.edu using a web browser. 

  1. Click the gear icon in the upper right and click View all Outlook settings. 

  1. On the left side, click General and then click Storage. 

  1. Your quota information will be shown. 

Outcome: You should be able to see how much of your 100 GB storage you are using after following these steps.

Recovering deleted items

Deleted items can be recovered from Catmail's dumpster for an additional 14 days after being purged from your Deleted Items folder. 

To recover deleted items: 

  1. Log into your account using either Outlook web application (OWA) or Outlook

  1. Click your Deleted Items folder and then click Recover Deleted Items from this folder. 

  1. Select the item or items you wish to recover. 

  1. Click the Recover button. 

Automatic purge

On Catmail, Deleted Items older than 30 days are automatically purged. Purged messages can still be recovered for an additional 14 days through Outlook on the Web: 

  1. Log in to catmail.ohio.edu using a web browser. 

  1. Follow these steps to recover deleted items in Outlook on the Web.
