Remote Mac Software Management

Description

Remote management of University-owned Mac OS devices and licensed software applications, including regular updates and security patching.

Access

  • All University-owned Mac computers that are capable of running one of the three most recent releases of Mac OS.

Who can access

This service is the easiest and safest way to obtain University-licensed software and to make sure that software is kept up to date. Configurations are available for:

  • Computers issued to individual OHIO faculty and staff

  • Shared workstations

  • Lab computers

  • Standard suite of licensed software packages, including Microsoft Office 365.

  • Automated operating system updates.

  • One-click software installs.

  • Simplified troubleshooting steps to fix common issues.

  • A streamlined process for setting up new computers or re-imaging existing computers.

  • Helps ensure computers are properly protected against cyber threats.

Base image install

  • Microsoft Office 365 

    • Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive for Business, OneNote, Teams

  • Endpoint Security (Anti-Virus Software)

  • Browsers

    • Safari, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge

  • OS Installed Apps

    • Including GarageBand, iMovie, Keynote, Numbers, and Pages

User-installable applications via the Self-Service app

  • One-click installers for OHIO-licensed and OHIO-approved software.
