Description
Microphones are located in classrooms so that you can amplify your voice or be heard in applications through the computer (e.g. for Teams meetings, Panopto recordings, etc.), depending on the size of the room.
Access
Large (99+) Classrooms

Log in to the computer in the classroom.

Press the on/off button for 3-4 seconds until the green light is steady on the lavaliere or stick microphone.

Volume can be controlled by clicking on the speaker icon on the lower right corner of the computer screen.
Medium (25-98) and Small (1-24) Classrooms

Log in to the computer in the classroom.

The extended microphone located on the lectern will automatically be powered on and ready to use in applications through the computer (e.g. for Teams meetings, Panopto recordings, etc.). The microphone will not amplify the user's voice through the in-room speakers. Please contact OIT if you need an in-room audio amplification solution for teaching.

Volume can be controlled by using the volume knob located on the left side of the lectern.
You can navigate to the Technology Finder to search by technology need or space to see if an extended microphone (also known as a boundary microphone) is available.
