OHIO Testing Services offers off-campus testing options for students who are unable to take their examinations at one of the OHIO campus locations. Students may seek approval for an alternate proctor or an alternate testing center.
Access
Off-campus testing in a testing center

If you wish to request off-campus testing in a testing center of your choice, you will need to submit an Off-Campus Proctored Exam Request form at least 10 days before your scheduled exam date.

If your exam is paper-based, it will be sent to the approved testing center via email. After you completed your paper-based exam, the proctor will return it to the professor by email for grading.

Off-site testing centers may charge fees for their services. You are responsible for paying those fees.

In order to maintain the highest degree of integrity for Ohio University, we reserve the right to decline any person whom we feel could be a potential conflict of interest as a proctor.

The following are allowable proctors for exams:

Full-time faculty of a local college testing center

Full-time faculty and administrative staff at a college or university

Full-time teacher, guidance counselor, or administrative staff

Hospital Education Department (RN to BSN program only)

Embassy education officer or military base/station education officer (active military only)

Base commander (active, deployed military only)

The following are not allowable as proctors:

School libraries and public libraries
-
Proctor U or other online proctoring platforms, unless specifically allowed and set up by your professor.

Learning Center

Tutoring Center

Floor or unit educators of a hospital

Family members or anyone with a personal relationship to the student or students family

You must complete your exam in an educational facility. No proctoring may take place at a private residence.
