Features
OHIO Testing Services offers proctoring services for computer-based standardized tests for the following:
-
Praxis I/ Core: If required by the Education Department, the Pre-Professional Skills Assessments (PPST) are designed to measure basic skills in reading, writing, and mathematics and are used to evaluate individuals for entry into teacher education programs. Visit the Praxis website for more information or to register.
-
Ohio Assessments for Educators: The Ohio Assessments for Educators replace the Praxis II examinations, except for the World Languages exams (see above). Assessments will be available year-round at the OHIO Testing Services using Pearson VUE. Visit the Ohio Assessments for Educators website for more information or to register.
-
TOEFL: The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is an Internet-Based Test (IBT) that measures the ability of non-native speakers of English to use and understand English as it is spoken, written, and heard in college and university settings. Visit the TOEFL website for more information or to register.
-
GRE: The GRE General and Subject Tests are designed to help graduate school admission committees and fellowship sponsors assess the qualifications of applicants. The tests also provide students with an assessment of their own qualifications. Visit the GRE website for more information or to register.
-
Praxis II Subject Assessments: This exam is no longer required in the state of Ohio: it has been replaced with the Ohio Assessment for Educator testing. We continue to offer the Praxis II for students from neighboring states that require this exam. Praxis II® Subject Assessments measure knowledge of specific subjects that K–12 educators will teach, as well as general and subject-specific teaching skills and knowledge. Individuals entering the teaching profession take the Praxis II tests as part of the teacher licensing process. Praxis II tests are available in paper-delivered and computer-delivered formats. (Not all tests are offered in both formats.) Visit the Praxis website for more information or to register.
Ohio University offers the following written tests, outside of the OHIO Testing Services.
