Digital Accessibility

Description

Digital Accessibility services are consultative in nature and are provided to other OHIO departments free of charge. Digital Accessibility services help to ensure technology solutions and systems are accessible for all OHIO users in accordance with University Policy 04.001 Information Technology Accessibility. 

OIT’s Digital Accessibility services do not determine or provide specific accommodations for students, employees, or members of the public; such requests should be directed to the Office for University Accessibility.

Access

How to request access

  • To request a Digital Accessibility review of a new technology purchase or integration, please submit an OHIO Technology Review Request.

  • For all other Digital Accessibility services, please Create a Ticket.

Features

The Digital Accessibility team provides a variety of features and services to the University community:

  • Reviews accessibility of information and communication technology (ICT) purchases and integrations

  • Reviews newly migrated websites for accessibility

  • Provides training and consultation services

  • Collaborates with accessibility services teams across campus

  • Maintains and updates the IT accessibility guidelines

Report an accessibility barrier

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please let us know by submitting the Report an Accessibility Barrier form. The Office for University Accessibility will receive and respond to these requests.

OHIO Digital Accessibility Network (OHIO-DAN)

  • The OHIO Digital Accessibility Network (OHIO-DAN) is a university-wide, interdisciplinary group of volunteers who are committed to helping Ohio University not only improve its current tools to meet accessibility goals, but also incorporate best practices in coding, content creation, and the IT purchases we make. Security

The Ohio University Information Security Office strives to educate and empower the University community to appropriately manage risks and protect OHIO’s information and systems.
