Plan for Alternative Access
A survey's content or delivery mode may require alternative access for a participant. You should plan ahead to have accessibility accommodations available. Examples include:
- Creating a copy of the survey in Microsoft Word or Plain Text format that can be used with assistive technologies like screen readers.
- Offering alternate methods of participation like email or phone call.
- Having staff available to provide accommodations like recording responses or reading questions and responses aloud.
Your alternative access accommodations should be described in the introductory text of the survey and/or in the survey distribution communications.
If you need additional guidance with the best ways to create an accessible survey, contact the IT Service Desk.
