Description
Secure Print lets you tell a printer or copier to hold a print job until you arrive at the machine and release that job. This saves on documents getting lost in the shuffle and reduces the likelihood that sensitive or confidential information will be left in the printer's output tray for everyone to see.
Environment
Mac
Solution
Step 1: Print your document using the Secure Print option
-
Start your print job as you would with any document, typically by choosing File: Print or command+P.
-
In the resulting print dialog, scroll down to the Printer Options section and select the ">" to expand the section. Select the "i" next to Job Handling.
-
Change Document Filing to Hold Only. Enter a 5 digit Pin Code. Select OK.
-
Your document will be held by your chosen printer or copier until you visit the device and enter the Pin Code you chose in step 3 above.
Step 2: Release your document(s) by visiting the printer or copier
-
At the printer, open the PIN Print Release app.
-
On the touchscreen, select Main Folder.
-
You should see a list of all Secure Print jobs. Select the entry that matches your OHIO ID.
-
When prompted, enter the Secure Print Pin Code you chose when you sent your document to the printer or copier.
- Tap Print Now.

Outcome: You should now be able to use Secure Print on your Mac machine.
