Financial Aid Scholarship Application - How to Submit

Overview

The HCOM Financial Aid Institutional Scholarship Application is available for HCOM students to submit between mid-February through mid-march of each year. The application is available to the students in the HCOM Student Portal. 

Accessing the Student Portal and Logging In

The Student Portal can be accessed using the following link: https://ouhcom.my.site.com/students/. You will use your OHIO email and password to log in. 

Upon logging in, you'll land on a homepage like the one pictured below. From here you can select any of the Tools found on the right hand side of the page. Depending on what year student you are, different Tools and information may or may not be available. For more detailed information on the Student Portal Tools, please see additional documentation in the Salesforce>HCOM Students folder of Knowledge Base.

Select the 'Institutional Scholarships' link under the Financial Aid Tools. 

View for Scholarships Offered Next Academic Year

On the page that loads (it could take 10-15 seconds for it to fully load) you will see a list of all available scholarships for the next academic year. You can use the filters to the left to narrow down the list of scholarships you may be eligible for. You can toggle in and out of various filters to help determine what you may be eiligible for. To show the entire list of scholarships, please click the 'Reset Filters' button. If you know of a specific scholarship you'd like to apply for, search for it by name in the search bar above.

Click the name of the scholarship to view additional information and eligibility requirements. Be sure to select your appropriate OMS year for the upcoming academic year. So, if you're currently an OMS I, you'll want to look for OMS II scholarships.  

 

 

Applying for Institutional Scholarships

  1. To apply for one or multiple scholarships at a time, click the checkbox next to the scholarship name and then click the 'Apply for Scholarships' button towards the bottom right.


 

2. You will receive two pop-up windows confirming that you'd like to apply to the selected scholarships, click 'Continue' then 'Next'. 

3. A page will appear asking you to provide your undergraduate institution (required) and parental financial information (optional). You only have to fill out these fields one time.
Note: some scholarships require parent information in order to be awarded. Scroll down and select 'Next'. 

4. Next, you will be required to submit a Statement of Eligiblity for each scholarship you are applying to, please have this ready at the time of application. You may not be able to return to the eligibility statement to make changes. Review the requirements for the scholarship and briefly explain how you meet them. When complete, click 'Finalize Application(s)'. If the scholarship requires a separate essay, letter, or recommendation, you will be given the opportunity to do so via an upload page.


5. Upon finalizing your applications, you will be returned to the table of available scholarships. If no further information is needed, the application status will be "Submitted". If more information needs to be collected or if a file upload is required, the application status will be "Needs More Information". 

6. To provide additional information, such as an essay or letter of recommendation, click the 'Upload' box. You will need to have all required uploads available at the time of upload. Once an upload has been submitted, you may not return to the upload screen. 

  • On the page that loads, you will see the scholarship requirements, your completed statement of eligibility, and an Upload Box. You can upload as many documents as necessary at once. Then you will see an 'Additional Information' section. Make any necessary changes and then scroll to click "Submit". 

7. Once the uploaded documents are submitted, the application status will change to 'Submitted' and you are finished applying to those scholarships.
