Resetting your OHIO account password

Description

If you have forgotten or lost your password, or if you have responded to a malicious email, you should reset your password.

Environment

Any account or device that uses your OHIO account login

Solution 

Self-serve reset

• Visit account.ohio.edu to reset your password.  

  • NOTE: The password reset link on the University's Office 365 login page currently does not work. You must use account.ohio.edu to reset your password. 

Outcome: You should now have access to your account.

Alternate way to reset your password

• To verify your identity for password reset purposes, you will need to bring a photo ID to one of the following locations.

  • Athens Campus

    • Bobcat Depot - Baker Center 112 

  • Regional Campuses

    • Eastern: Shannon Hall, Room 227 - Eastern Campus Lab Annex 

    • Chillicothe: Bennett Hall - Computer Lab 

    • Lancaster: Herrold Hall, Brasee Hall, Student Services 

    • Southern: Academic Center Building, Room 210 - Open Computer Lab 

    • Zanesville: Elson Hall, Room 102 - Help Desk 

• If you are unable to travel to one of the above locations, please contact the IT Service Desk to discuss alternate methods of verifying your identity. 

• Faculty and staff: If your department has a technician assigned to it, that individual can also reset your password for you.
