Using LastPass Family Benefits

Description

All OHIO employees who have access to LastPass can activate the Family as a Benefit package at no additional cost.

Note: Access to LastPass at Ohio University is granted to employees on a departmental basis. Departments wishing to utilize LastPass will incur a cost of $40 per license per year. Please submit a ticket to inquire about purchasing LastPass for your department.

Getting started

1. Access your LastPass vault. Select the browser extension icon, then select Open My Vault. 

2. In the left menu, select Account Benefits 

3. Select Activate LastPass Families for free 

4. Enter your personal, non-ohio.edu email address and select Let's go.

   • NOTE: If you have already set up a personal LastPass account on your own, enter the applicable email address. You will then be prompted to provide your LastPass master password to link your accounts.  

5. Navigate to your personal email account and look for the LastPass verification email. Select the link in the verification email. You may need to log out of your OHIO LastPass account to complete the activation process.

Manage family members

1. Access your LastPass vault. Select the browser extension icon, then select Open My Vault. 

2. In the left menu, select Manage Family. This will open a new tab/window in your browser. 

3. Add family and friends to your account by selecting the Add Family Member button in the upper right corner. 

4. Use this screen to invite your family and friends to your LastPass account as either Members or Family Managers. You can invite up to five different email addresses.

NOTE: If your employment ends at Ohio University and you wish to continue using your LastPass personal account, you will be responsible for the cost of the service.

Outcome: You should now be able to activate the Family Benefits functionality and use it with your family and friends.
