Research & Scholarly Activities - How to Submit

Overview

In accordance with Heritage College Policy 7.11, all students conducting internal (inside Ohio University) or external (outside Ohio University) research or scholarly activity must follow all Heritage College and Ohio University research and scholarly activities policies and procedures and register their research and scholarly activities with the Office of Research and Grants (ORG) through their student portals. 

Accessing the Student Portal and Logging In

The Student Portal can be accessed using the following link: https://ouhcom.my.site.com/students/. You will use your OHIO email and password to log in. 

Upon logging in, you'll land on a homepage similar to the one pictured below. From here select "Research Activity Record". 

Submitting a Research or Scholarly Activity

The page that loads will provide detailed instructions, resources, and requirements regarding research activities, please be sure to read it thoroughly. To submit your first or a new research activity, click the "Create A New Research and Scholarly Activity Record" button. 

General Instructions for completing the form:

  •  You may not have all of the information required to complete this form on the first attempt. Please fill out the required fields (designated by the red bars) to be able to submit  the form and save it. Once it's saved, you can return to it as needed to provide additional details. 
  • The Office of Research and Grants (ORG) will not review or act on this form until you mark the form as "complete", by checking the box titled ""This Form is Complete," and clicking "Submit."
  • Depending on the answers you select, other form items may appear.

Submit or Save as needed. The ORG will not act on the form until the check-box highlighted above is checked. 

Viewing Research and Scholarly Activities

When you submit your activity, you'll return your Research and Scholarly Activity List Page. From here, you'll be able to navigate to each record to edit or view. Additionally, you can create new activity records and see the status of your activities on this page.
