The PID is Ohio University's way of identifying you without needing to use a sensitive piece of information like your Social Security number. PIDs are listed on your Ohio University identification card and as part of other records. Your official PID does not necessarily give anyone access to your personal OHIO information. Services that involve your personal records should always require positive physical identification and, for online services, your OHIO ID (the first part of your OHIO email address) and password. Faculty and staff are permitted to include PIDs in university correspondence, including email, as needed.
You can obtain your PID by logging into the OHIO Accounts Page. If your log in attempt is unsuccessful, please use one of the alternate methods described below.
Check your Ohio University ID card; your PID is printed on the front
Visit the Bobcat Depot or the ID card office for your campus
Contact the Office of the University Registrar at 740.593.4191
Employees who do not know their PIDs can bring a valid photo ID to any ID card office location, or contact University Human Resources.
Alumni should contact the IT Service Desk to obtain their PID. Please be prepared to provide the following as proof of your identity:
Telephone number
Photo ID
A handwritten and signed note requesting your PID (your photo ID and note can be provided by taking a picture sharing through email or fax)
