Jabber for Desktop is a softphone application that lets you use a Windows or Mac computer to place and answer calls from your Ohio University work number.

Access

You can access Jabber from a Windows or Mac OS device. View our Getting Started with Jabber article for step-by-step access and login instructions.

Who can access

  • Faculty and staff

How to request access

  • Contact the IT Service Desk with the following information:

    • State that you would like to request Jabber for Desktop

    • Your OHIO email address

    • Your Ohio University phone number

      • If you manage more than one phone line, you can specify up to 7 other phone numbers to make and receive calls via Jabber

  • Integration with RedSky MyE911, an application that offers dynamic location tracking for softphone users so they have E911 protection available.
