Installing the RedSky MyE911 app

Description

As provisioned by Ray Baum’s Act, all Ohio University softphone users must install the RedSky MyE911 app. Using the MyE911 app will ensure that first responders will be able to locate you quickly and accurately in the event of an emergency where you dial 911.

Accessing the RedSky MyE911 app for the first time will require you to install the application on your device.

Environment

PC, Mac, smartphone, tablet

Solution 

Softphone users will automatically receive access to RedSky MyE911. You will receive a welcome email from RedSky once you have been granted access, but if you do not, below are options for downloading and installing the software.

During the installation of the software, enter https://anywhere.e911cloud.com in the Redsky Cirrus Cloud Host field.

Windows

University-owned PC: Download from Software Center

  1. Make sure your computer is connected to the OHIO network (wired or eduroam wi-fi for on-campus, VPN for off-campus).

  2. Open your Start Menu.

  3. Choose All Programs | Microsoft Endpoint Manager | Software Center.

  4. Choose MyE911client.

If your University-owned PC does not have the Software Center application, contact your departmental IT technician or submit a ticket to the Technology Help Center to enroll in our PC Management service.

Personally-owned PC

For a personally owned device, navigate to this RedSky MyE911 app for Windows download (opens a new page and automatically downloads the installer).

Mac OS

University-owned Mac: Download from Self Service

  1. Ensure your computer is connected to the OHIO network (wired or eduroam wi-fi for on-campus, VPN for off-campus).

  2. Go to Finder.

  3. Under the Go menu choose Applications.

  4. Open Self Service.

  5. Choose MyE911 client.

  6. The software will install itself on your Mac within 1 hour.

If your University-owned Mac does not have the Self Service application, contact your departmental IT technician or submit a ticket to the Technology Help Center to enroll in our Mac Management service.

Personally-owned Mac

For a personally owned device, navigate to this RedSky MyE911 app for Mac Download (opens a new page and automatically downloads the installer).

Android and Apple smartphone and tablet users

Search your app store for MyE911 for Mobile v4 by Redsky Technologies, Inc.

 

Outcome: You should now be able to install the RedSky MyE911 app on your device.
