Panopto is a cloud-based application for recording lectures, presentations, or events for later replay by students or colleagues.

Access

Who can access

  • To create or upload content: Faculty, staff, and emeriti.

  • To view content: Anyone; however, content owners have the option of limiting access to their lectures/files.

  • Automatically generated bookmarks jump to specific points in a lecture or presentation

  • Access to lectures/videos can be restricted

Content Retention Policy

  • Content that has not been viewed or updated for two (2) years is automatically moved to Panopto's archive storage.
  • Archived content remains available and can be restored when needed.
  • Restoring archived content typically takes up to 48 hours, but may take as long as 72 hours depending on system demand.
  • Archived content that remains un-viewed and unmodified for an additional seven (7) years will be permanently deleted.
