Accessibility Focus:
Immersive Reader: Immersive Reader can improve reading skills and comprehension through the use of the read aloud function and grammar options to adjustable reading and text preferences. Bolster inclusive teaching practices with text decoding capabilities and individual word or whole-text translation in many languages.
Immersive Reader is available in Teams, Word, Outlook, OneNote, Forms and more.
Microsoft Translator : Enhance inclusivity with Translator. Improve communication between students, parents, administrators, and teachers who are linguistically diverse or who need adaptive vision or hearing supports with the Translator app. Translate learning activities and presentations in real time and bridge languages with the multidevice conversation feature.
Microsoft Translator is available in Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook and as a stand alone app in Apple, Google and Amazon app stores.
Dictation: Dictate lets you use speech-to-text to author content in Office with a microphone and reliable internet connection. Use your voice to quickly create documents, emails, notes, presentations, or even slide notes. Live Captions and Subtitles: Share information in a more accessible way with real-time live captions and subtitles that display your speech as text while you speak. Individuals or meeting hosts can turn on this feature.
Live Captions and Subtitles are available in Teams and PowerPoint.
Teaching/Learning Focus:
Learning Accelerators: Microsoft Learning Accelerators are a suite of built-in tools within Microsoft 365 Education designed to help students build foundational and future-ready skills. Instructors can create or assign lessons to give learners the opportunity to practice independently with provided tools. Learning Accelerators are built into Microsoft Teams and available through LMS integrations with Microsoft Education.
Reading Coach : Reading Coach is a free, standalone Learning Accelerator that builds reading fluency through personalized reading practice to engage learners of all abilities. As students read aloud, it offers real-time feedback on pronunciation, syllabification accuracy, and reading progress. Independent practice allows learners to focus on building skills at their own pace.
Extensive language support makes Reading Coach a valuable tool for enhancing language development. Its user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) are now available in 81 different languages. And, Reading Coach supports 14 different English dialects, aligning real-time coaching to regional variations in pronunciation and usage.
Reading Progress: Reading Progress works with Reading Coach to track students’ reading skills, give educators actionable insights quickly, and focus students on specific areas for improvement.
Speaker Coach: Evaluate students’ public speaking performances and give personalized feedback on details like pitch, use of filler words, and pacing without the stress of an audience using the real-time Speaker Coach tool. Speaker Coach also works in conjunction with PowerPoint.
Speaker Progress: Monitor data on student public speaking skills in the Speaker Progress app, with analytics from Speaker Coach. Track how presentation skills are improving at the individual, class, grade, and school levels.
Search Coach: Teach students how to effectively search and evaluate information online with Search Coach, built into Microsoft Teams for Education.
