Requesting Access to the Growing with Canvas Instructor Course

Description

Growing With Canvas is a five-module, Canvas-created active learning course that provides staff and faculty with a combination of Canvas Video Guides and Canvas Guides to orient users on how to utilize the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).

Anyone listed as an instructor for an academic course in OHIO's Student Information System (PeopleSoft) will be automatically enrolled as a student within the Growing with Canvas instructor training course in Canvas.

If you will be teaching a non-academic course in Canvas (referred to as Organizations in Blackboard) and are not an instructor for an academic course in PeopleSoft, you can access the Growing with Canvas instructor training course by request.

Solution 

To request access to the Growing with Canvas course: 

  1. Select the Create Ticket button in the upper right side of this screen 
  2. Under What kind of Canvas request are you making?, select I have a general Canvas request
  3. Under Canvas Course ID, enter Growing with Canvas
  4. Under Description/Additional Details, note that you would like to be enrolled in the Growing with Canvas course. 
  5. Select Submit 

Outcome: The Canvas team will add you to the course and follow up with you via your ticket when that access has been granted.

    • Dial the Canvas Support Hotline number located under "Get Help" in the Canvas Global Navigation Menu 
    • Contact OIT at 740-593-1222 for questions related to logging in, manually created courses, or third-party tools (Panopto, VoiceThread, Inclusive Access, etc.)
