Sharing Panopto Content Between Blackboard and Canvas

Description

When you access Panopto via Canvas you will not automatically see your Blackboard content and when you access Panopto via Blackboard you will not automatically see your Canvas content. Therefore, you must manually share the content between the two accounts.

These steps are intended for users who want to share the same Panopto content in both Blackboard and Canvas courses.

Environment

Blackboard, Canvas, Panopto

Solution

Before you begin, please note:

All Panopto users will have two accounts, one for Blackboard and one for Canvas.

  • Blackboard Panopto accounts use only your OHIO ID (bs797816).
  • Canvas Panopto accounts use your complete email address (bs797816@ohio.edu).

In step #4, it is critical that you log out of all Ohio University systems before logging into Panopto. We highly recommend using two separate web browsers for this process. (Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Safari).

  1. Log in to Canvas at canvas.ohio.edu
  2. Select any course for which you are the instructor
  3. In the left, white, Course Navigation Menu select Panopto Video
