Intune is a cloud-based management tool for computers that is similar to Configuration Manager, but with the advantage of being more reliable for off-campus computers. It is based on Azure Active Directory and is used by administrators and technicians to diagnose, repair, and update computers. End users will not see any visible changes when computers are fully enrolled in Intune. It is simply a management tool used by administrators and technicians for managing computer updates.

Intune offers a component called “Company Portal”, which is similar to Configuration Manager's Software Center (SCCM). Users can install and update software through the Company Portal, which shows all applications available from both Intune and Configuration Manager. To use the Company Portal, users must first install it from the Microsoft Store, as it does not get installed by default. Once added, users can install and launch the Company Portal to manage their software updates.
